Default Glasgow Rangers, the End?

Rangers Football Club has lodged legal papers signalling its intention to go into administration.

The Ibrox club lodged papers at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Monday, notifying an intention to declare an administrator. (BBC Website)

If the club is formally put into administration it faces an immediate 10-point penalty from the Scottish Premier League

Is this the end for the club?

A wise move. Ten points deduction is far cheaper than paying £50 million.

Perhaps they could be helped by a large donation from English tax payers - like RBS ?

Default Stand up MR David Murray

That is the man who caused this situation , he bought the club over twenty years ago with one object in mind [getting into the english league] to get the big TV [sky] money , he sanctioned the purchase of top players to ensure champions league football every year but even this extra income could'nt put the club into profit and Mr Murray wanted out , he sold the club for a pound to the new owner with the proviso he took on the 20 million debt to the bank .

The new owner also took on the HMRC tax liability and it's that 50 million debt that has sent the club into administration .

The new owner is well known for taking on high risk companies and putting them on a level keel but frankly the methods used by such people doesnt appeal to fans but if the club is to emerge again this process needs to be gone through .

NO SURRENDER.

Big signings, big wage bills and very little in the form of prize money was the problem in the past.

Lack of a Sky Sports deal when the SFA tried to hold them to ransom are all contributing factors.

The football world has not seen the last of this famous football club , we have won more domestic trophies than ANYONE else in the WORLD , we have won more league CHAMPIONSHIPS than anyone else in the world , BTW thats the whole world not just europe or south america [THE WHOLE WORLD] .

I watched them in my first match on the shoulders of my brother and i have seen them win countless trophies and a european trophy in barcelona , i have followed them since the age of ten and they WILL survive .

Football clubs are part of a persons life .
