I've said this before, if this sort of thing is going on, any type of dash cam is better than no dash cam.
Absolutely, anything that records the events is better than nowt. The only real advantage to the better ones is working in poor light/at night - and in the case of hit & run drivers - if you can find a frame on the recording where you can read the number plate there's much more chance of having the
police catch them.

A lot of Russians have dash cams but, I never noticed this happening in China.

I'm sorry but I would have driven over him and the bike made a proper job of it..

Staged or not. A complete fraud or not the value of having a dashcam is immense.

I've recently installed front & rear cameras and they have already "caught" a couple of erm... "interesting" driving events.

No collision or injury but very very easily could have been:

A T bone at considerable speed for hurtling through a red light (3 cars incl me had already stopped) and

A head on while driving on the wrong side of the road (past a pedestrian "island" with the blue arrow bollard) straight across the face of a junction, again at considerable speed.

Oddly both cars were "souped up" with extra aerodynamic add ons and exhausts bigger than my silencer. Both events were in built up areas with a 30mph limit.

If drivers want to play fast why don't they get a competition license or do track days and find out how good they really are?

Andy.
