Default OBD Software

Good morning all,

I'm a relative novice to the world of android head units & I am not overly IT literate!
I have recently received a Navall Premium unit from Sean, and as I have been pestering him for advice over the past week I thought I'd post on here first - I think he'll be pleased when I'm fully set up!
I have the OBD reader with the unit but am having difficulty downloading the relevant softwares onto the head unit to be able to read the data. Can one of you kind soles point me in the right direction, please? I was able to download the software to my laptop, but on the head unit, & my phone, I can't open it. The software I tried was scantool_net113.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Rob

Thanks philm,
I had tried that but the reader wouldn't communicate. I'll give it another go later. Is there any settings I have to play with to get the two to communicate?

Thanks,

Rob

The head units usually use an app called Torque and you need to connect with a cable to the head unit from the OBD socket under your right knee when sat in driver seat.

For android I use a bluetooth elm327 and torque.

For pc its toaf and a modded vagcom cable.

The head unit you have if its android and has bluetooth get the bluetooth one.
(this one) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD2-ELM32...UAAOSw2gxYq-Mz

That way you can fit it and forget it, as it is a slim line model. I got the full size older one and can't leave that fitted otherwise you'll smash it off getting in and out the car.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks Gents,

the link philm provided will be useful as I had tried Torque Lite, it downloaded ok but wouldn't connect. The link talks about exiting the software then restarting it as it won't pair with the reader otherwise. I shall give that a go tonight.
I have the slim line Bluetooth reader & was thinking of leaving it in situ permanently. I had noticed that there is a permanent red led lit with the reader plugged in, even with the keys out of the ignition. Is this normal?

Thanks again,

Rob

When you go into bluetooth are the units pairing if not may be a problem with the obd reader have you a phone or pc/tablet with bluetooth see if it connects to the head unit or reader.
