Well done John,
Your determination to get this project completed is a shining light to us all! Particularly when you are able to walk away for a while when a particularly difficult aspect challenges you-and then come back refreshed and more determined. I guess yours will be the fastest auto-electrician service in the South of England when completed!![not far away??] Best wishes Kevin |

I have always said 'I've started so I'll finish' and finish I will Lol. Yes, not too far away thanks, bumpers now painted and the rear is on all completed. The front is built and loosely clipped into place while I sort a Revotec fan out with Jules (must phone him and order it) I have a bit of an electrical gremlin going on at the moment which I am pretty sure is the Gateway ecu, I have a brand new one coming (should be at the post office waiting for me) I will then convince CB750 Chris that he really wants to come round to program it for me, and I will see if my theory is right. If not, I have a massive electrical problem to sort out No worries though, I'll fix it one way or another I'll get some photo's on as soon as I get 5 minutes spare

Yup, already on it. Front wings off, front looms out and cut open for investigation, will be checking continuities back to ECU and gateway at week-end. This car has not, and will not beat me

Update
After a very long and very, very exhaustive and complex investigation including stripping the car apart and cutting the harnesses open and manually checking every single wire, component and connection I have concluded that the engine control module is at fault. Great, couldn't ask for more. Any of you kind souls out there got one Failing that, 005 once more will be confined to the dark dingy cobweb infested far reaching confines of the garage until my enthusiasm gets re-kindled

What is your fault? Could one of the ECU repair specialist help you?
Is the ECU the same as fitted to a Mustang of the same age? Could this be a possible source? |

Yes mate, the same as the Mustang, they are available new at a reasonable price but they have to be programmed. I have spoken to Chris to see if T4 will do this and he is looking into it. If all is a no go, as a last resort I will use one of the AutoCool controllers and remove cooling fan and a/c from the ecu, but I would much rather keep the system standard if at all possible.
