Self dimming rear view mirror
Hi I have a 2005 contemporary and wonder how easy it would be to fit a self dimming rear view mirror? Does the wiring exist and what else would I need to do. Advice would be appreciated!

if you don't have a self dimming mirror you will probably need to run 3 wires.
Not hard, go from front centre internal light and go down by the seat belts, other may suggest from A pillar. If you go down the near side it is a short hop to the fuse box. While there should be 3 wires you may get away with 2, the third has to do with reversing. Not sure what it does. If you remove the centre light and have a look to see if there is a plug there for a mirror It is well worth the effort to fit one macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 9th July 2020 at 11:06.. |

You can wire the mirror directly into the interior wiring harness, one earth and one live is all that is needed.
Don’t worry about the reverse wire, all that does is stop the mirror dimming when reverse is selected.
