It looks like the genuine rover one I fitted to mine last year. Definately worth having for somebody. Anyone with the highline will have also buy a phono extension lead and a BMW adaptor cable in order for it to link into the radio but their not expensive

It has its own speaker, sound from the call will be via that - it seems it needs just power and optionally the mute connection. The usual method they work with one of the existing car speakers (usually the drivers door speeaker), is that the feed to that speaker is broken and the unit goes in series with it. On a call being being detected, a relay disconnects the car's amp from the speaker and feeds it instead from the bluetooth's audio.

Hi Rich, is this from my old ZT or the Diesel?
If it was, then it was the Nokia produced MG Rover one if that helps, I cant recall the separate speaker though

I agree with Harry looks as if it was never fitted properly. When it is, it links into the audio which it mutes when you make a call.

You're right! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. The speaker is from another system and this is what you were talking about. My mistake. The lead uses the cars existing speakers. Thanks again Rich. |
