Question Cruise control not working...

Thought I'd try my cruise control on my Rover 75 - but it doesn't work! The button lights up, but isn't there something meant to be displayed on the dash board too? The buttons on the steering wheel click, but nothing happens (I did read the drivers handbook to see if I was doing something wrong).
Can anyone offer any solutions? I do quite a bit of motor way driving, so having this feature would be handy...
Cheers in advance!

Smile cruise control

Hi I asked the same question 2/3 days ago, the problem with mine was the clutch pedal switch I was told to put my foot under the pedal and lift up which worked.

Default Cruise Control

Yes, it's invariably the switches above the clutch and brake pedals.
Make sure they are clicked into their holders. Other than that the system seems to be fairly reliable.

Come on newbies time for a reminder we don't have crystal balls, a proper title including car variant and engine details makes it so much easier for you and us when asking for help.

I believe he has a Rover 75 2.5 v6 Connoisseur.

As Keith has said if members could add there details to there post it really helps and stops 3/4 post requesting this information, remember you can add your car details to your members profile as well

A yours is a auto try looking at the top of your brake pedal for a switch as this can come lose and needs to be put back in it's place.

Actually I was just looking this up Andy
The brake light switch comprises two hall effect switches
It is easy enough to tell if the switch is correctly positioned as if not the brake lights will probably be on permanently but what you can't do is check the operation of the other part of the switch is actually working.

Easiest way to fix this short of the normal vacuum actuator and fuse related checks is to get the car on T4 and run the various sub system tests
