Default Rover 75 Connoisseur SE V6 2.5 Auto, 2005.

NOW SOLD Rover 75 Connoisseur SE V6 2.5 Auto, 2005.

For sale because I have replaced it with an ’02 model which I have ogled for 7 years. Always parked in a driveway 100 yards from my house and then suddenly relegated and parked in the cold cold kerb. Hoping against hope I popped a brief note in the letter box and lo, ‘twere mine. If I had the space I would keep both, but I’m told I can’t, so:

Platinum Gold (MCN), 63500 miles. All the SE refinements. I have owned this car since July 2010 having covered 30000 miles (two previous owners who generously looked after it for me until then).

Condition and history:
To the best of my knowledge there have been no accident repairs by previous owners and none in my ownership. Properly serviced since new, with Dealer services until mine, plus my full records/invoices and diary log.

Oil changes every year with each MOT, transmission fluid and coolant changed last year. Replacement of belts, tensioner and roller, water pump and thermostat two years ago by specialist of great repute (Lates600). Very quiet, smooth cruise all day. Tyres all top quality and in good condition. Two keys. There is the original emergency spare wheel and also a full size alloy to match the other four.

Parts replaced over my ownership (other than regular service items) have included discs and pads, VIS motors, starter solenoid, battery, upgrade to twin horns, upgrade to improved cooling fan resistor, handbrake compensator. No known faults other than three relatively minor ones which would benefit from attention:

1. Seized sun roof (closed!) which jammed the interior slide and burned out the motor or blew a fuse so possible cartridge and/or motor required, readily available at very low cost. It happened a year ago, only the second time I used it. I thought sodit, I’ve only used it twice, don’t want it anyway.

2. Sun roof drains leaky, easy fix – plenty of info on here – not serious, boot is dry and rear light seals have been renewed.

3. Driver’s door opens with key and locks on the key button – presumed connecting rod slipped. Other doors/boot all ok on key button.

Outside, cosmetically some minor improvement could be needed.
Not extensive but as a daily driver it is not concourse. Mainly minor rubbing marks and fading. I mention this because perfection is no way to describe a car if it's not. Interior is good with no damage, rips or tears and passenger and rear seats appear rarely to have been used. Mot to July but I will do it early if required.

Terms for prospective buyer: cash only, on collection, please. Test drive – yes, accompanied, on production of adequate insurance. Ł850.
