Default Cold running diesels - EGR disabled?

Here's a thought...

All the people with an EGR Bypass, are they going to have a colder running engine in winter, as the hot exhaust gases that the EGR mixes with the fresh air are not being fed into the engine?

Yes, and no - remember the EGR actually helps to lower combustion temps.

The air itself is hot, but the overall combustion is colder.

Nope. Funnily enough adding exhaust gas to the engine lowers the combustion temperatures, which is why it is done, to reduce Nox emissions.

Mate don't go revving it whilst sniffing as its more poisonous without your EGR.
