Also, I've given no opinion on the car, as it's of no interest to me. My post earlier today in no way vindicated you - I was next to the car and would happily have given my opinion of it at that time, had anyone asked. That's all.

Next time perhaps you'll think before you let your frustrations boil over and say something you should not have.

That's an incredibly negative outlook.

Just about every car you buy, if written off, would result in a lower settlement from the insurer were it to be written off.

If this car is just what you want then it would be daft not to buy it for the sake of such a small amount of money.

There you go: it sold for £530. So you lost out for the sake of tens of pounds (probably, because you don't actually know how high the winning bidder was prepared to go).

But I was right: it didn't get silly at the the finish.
