All 4 electric windows have stopped working
Hi all, please help 😆. All of my electric windows have stopped working on my rover 75 connoisseur SE. 1st my power mirrors stopped working so I took the drivers switch apart gave it a clean ect. Then they started working, then fuse blew taking out my radio, climate control and windows. I replaced the fuse, now all works accept the windows😳, I checked the window fuses and they are intact.
Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Chris . Last edited by Chope1990; 12th April 2020 at 08:51.. Reason: Updated info |

Hi Chris,
I think that the driver's door switchpack still requires attention. All the electric window switches on this panel send their commands using a single digital communication wire to the body control unit known as the GM6. Do the individual switches on the NSF and both rear doors still operate the windows? Simon

Hi simon.
No the individual switches on the NSF and both rear doors do not operate the windows (aren’t working). All have stopped since I fixed the mirrors lol. I did have a thought that the drivers switch is nackerd, would this stop the NSF and back windows from working? Thanks Chris. |

are hard wired to the body control unit. They don't go anywhere near the driver's door switchpack. Have you checked fuselink 3 in the engine compartment fusebox? That appears to feed all the electric windows via two further fuses (F35 for front and F30 rear) in the passenger compartment fusebox (assuming that your 2004 car has the later design). Simon

Hi, I’ve checked 30 and 35 fuses and they are all ok. The fuse link 3 under the bonnet, I haven’t checked, to check this do I unscrew the fuse I assume? And how to tell if it broke.
Thanks Chris |

FL3 is 50 amps Chris so a visual inspection should be sufficient. If I remember correctly it's basically an exposed strip of metal. F30 & F35 in the passenger compartment fusebox are best checked with a multimeter to be sure.

Hi, A little update,
The rear switches and NSF switch now work lol, they go up and down, but when you press them on the driver switch pack the windows go down but not back up lol. I assume the switch pack is the issue? So press them individually and they work, press them on the drivers switch pack and the don’t. Thanks Chris Last edited by Chope1990; 13th April 2020 at 07:27.. Reason: New info |
