Default Removing mg zt car seats

Hi

Just to confirm! I bought a ribe 8 set from ebay to take the seats out and guess what they’re definitely not ribe 8 ! They were torx t50 !

Don’t buy ribe 8

Mg zt Cdti 2003 full leather seats

Just in case this helps confirm for anyone still puzzled by whether it is torx or torx plus or ribe 8 .

Anyway this was with my car maybe not all

They are definitely a ribe bolt, but a torx works just as well.

YOURS were T50, I think mine were TX plus 50 (but they could have been a Ribe 8, but they werent a T50), and others have (and originally fitted) Ribe 8. I still reckon that when the cars were young, when they would go to the dealer for 'repair' on the airbag light, they would get replaced with a T50, TX plus or another Ribe 8, and this would lead to the confusion - that is of course if the factory didnt change the spec towards the end

Default So annoying

I just think it’s crazy that I didn’t check the actually screw before I bought ribe 8 I’m an idiot lol I went and bought it based on others saying it’s definitely ribe 8 and even the pics of the screw I had seen didn’t look like ribe 8 and then I still bought it anyway like a silly muppet. Only to find ribe 8 was soooooo loose in all of them although it did manage to undo one. Then I had an old rusty torx t50 and it fit like a glove. Also it does state in the workshop manual t50 , I’m thinking some had theirs replaced like you said with a ribe 8 mainly as my seats have never come up before so I’m pretty much 100 percent my car came with t50. Not saying everyone’s will or has , but just in my case.

Ribe 8 almost destroyed one of my bolts , I thought I was screwed excuse the pun , and then I found a magic t50 and bang it was tighter than ever. I literally spent about 8 quid buying a whole set of ribe to be let down and find it didn’t fit and almost ruined one screw head despite me being very careful and keeping it straight.
