One example a few weeks ago i had a dream that i was at a funeral, could not make out the faces, woke up suddenly with a deep intake of hot breath, for a few seconds later i had the taste of ash on my lips.
Hope i have not added to your problem.
And I have been there as well. Again I went to counselling but it done me no good. Depression is an awful illness, I have struggled to come to terms with losing both my wife and my daughter within in 11 months of one and other.

So Rav you are not alone in these thoughts but like the others have said, I suggest you go and see your doctor and have a in depth chat. If advised to go to counselling then please do give it a try. It may just work. I was also put on tablets but hated the side effects. Took myself off of them.

So stop using your phone/iPad/computer at least 3-4 hours before you go to bed. Hot chocolate/milk or even a cup of tea before bed. Plus if you are awake in the night, again have a cuppa or two before returning to bed.

My wife and I had counselling for PTSD after losing both my parents within weeks. It helped her but I found it very strange and uncomfortable.

One other thing Rav, you mentioned that you suspect a medication might be the cause. If it an over the counter one speak to the Pharmacist, explain what's happening and ask if there's an alternative. If its a prescribed item see your GP.

Thanks, Bob. I will give this a go. I will find it hard not to use my devices before bed. I spend so much time on this forum. Last year, even that was stressing me out. I was on the forum literally non stop and I started to feel ill...

The medications I’m on are all prescription ones. I take medication to help me deal with depression and back pain. I’ve had these thoughts for the last few years on and off. The last 12 months or so have been quite bad, however.

Definitely speak to your GP Rav, all meds have alternatives. Personally I'm on statins and have real problems with the side effects of them. I've been on five different ones, all had the same effect so I eventually reached a compromise with my Doc, take them as long as I can then take a break.

Rav, try rating a good old hearty meal before you turn into your scratcher, a good meal always makes me feel tired. Just a thought.

Hmm . . . . there was a thread in here about arthritis in dogs with the recommendation to try a glucosamine food supplement. Old Abbey is 15, bit stiff and creaky so got her some. Tonight, after a couple of days of it she was very restless, couldn't settle, pacing around and squeaking. I had my suspicions so looked online, bleedin' stuff can cause an allergic type reaction in some dogs, skin irritation and God knows what. Gave her a long shower, washed her with a gentle soap. She's now sound asleep in her bed. Won't be giving here that stuff again.

Evening all, Still miserable & raining here, I've had my feet up with a glass of scotch & warm water this afternoon (I could really get used to this ) watching the new film 'The shape of water'. One of those 'dark' type films.
Quite enjoyed it as it's got a good 'baddie' chartacter. I missed the last quarter of an hour of it because I had to go for a pee & my missus decided that was it and switched it off because she had a visitor, I don't think she knows how to pause it

Adventurous tea tonight for me tonight, chicken tikka masala with pilau rice & garlic bread, me mouth is tingling.
