Default MG/ ROVER 2DIN Unit Install & Other things

I have started this tread, as the posting on the ICE forum was getting a bit messy.

I will be doing a "How To" once another member receives his head unit and I help him on the install and adding things to the SAT NAV program ECT.

I am being asked by a few members for help on things with these head units.

I am thinking about doing a Micro Card, with the latest IGO8 program along with Speed Cams, Full voice instructions, other skins ECT ECT.

I have been eBaying and can buy a 8Gb Kingston Micro card for around £18.00 or a 4Gb for around £7.00

I could load All of Europe (Around 2Gb) on the 8Gb card
I could load U.K and Ireland (Around 200Mb) on the 4Gb Card

This will leave plenty additional memory for Music Files to be added at a later date.

Or you could always send me a Micro card and I will load the software for you, again with return postage as I would send it back on a "signed for" 1st class post.

I do not expect anything for doing it, but all I would ask is, if the return postage to be paid.

The software would be for "elevation purposes" if you like the program than you can purchase it from Nav-N-Go.

This services is only available to members who have brought the New Units from either Sean or Cathy as there are many different screen resolutions for this type of unit, and I can only test them on my one, before I send them out.

If anyone would like any further information please feel free to PM me.

Revised price from the link Paul have given me

4Gb £8.77
8Gb £15.33
Plus say an extra £2.50 for P&P (signed for 1st class postage)

2nd Revsion

I will also include a ROVER 75/ ZT car Icon (it's my car, sorry its a black 75 ) on the map screen and a Rover 75/ ZT Opening Splash Screen
BUT you will have to let me know, what you would prefer for the splash screen

Tony I would definatly be intrested in one of these, and will PM you when I receive my unit.

On another note check http://www.memorybits.co.uk/index.ph...filter_id=202/ for micro sd, Free shipping and cheaper, takes a couple of days because they are located in Jersey think. I always get my card from them and have never had a problem.

Hi Paul,

Your right, they do seem cheaper, perhaps I will use them it will bring the cost down.

Hi Tony,

I have installed the unit and all seems OK so far. But I now need to install the Sean supplied DVB-T. I assume that the - & + for this can be safely taken from the - & + on the ISO connector for the head unit? If so should I use the switched live?

I have loads more questions, but I need to compile them

Thanks in advance,

SJR

Hi SJR

I do not have Sean's DVT-B unit but from the wiring diagram that another member sent me, the wiring should be:-

The Yellow Wire is a 12volt constant feed.

The Red wire is Switched 12volt supply.

The Black Wire is the ground (Earth Wire)

The Green wire should go to Earth if you don’t earth this wire you will not be able to use the DVB-T unit, it is normally connected to the Handbrake, so you can only watch the TV whist stationary.

All the connections can be taken from the ISO connector .

These should be the only wires you would need. Apart from the RCA connections, which are simple.

I have now send out my 1st SD card to lathbury (John) he has installed it and here is his reply:-

"Hi Tony, The card arrived yesterday and I have installed it, it is great. Many thanks for all your help, I look forward to your "how to" on some of the other great features. Once again, many thanks, I would have been lost without your help. John."

So one down only another 6 to do

You can choose the 75 or the MG splash screen that replaces the IGO opening screen when you first go into the SAT NAV program.

Rover 75

MG ZT

Hi Tony,

you are really sorting this head unit out!

Thanks for all your informative posts, if you're ever near carshalton/biggin hill and would like a beer or two you can pop in and show me how to fit it all in I think i'm ok on the HU but the dvb and wireless camera worry me.....
