Default 75 Tourer V8 for sale in Sweden

Apparently these are rarer than hen's teeth? Found this one for sale in Sweden. Was there ever any serial production of the V8's or are they all more or less hand-built?
I'm actually driving past there in a couple of weeks time, if the car is still advertised then I'll go have a look. I wouldn't mind a V8...
The price equals to about £20K.

Information from Andrew Phillips - MGCC F-Register Committee: Archivist & Technical or know as Scarlet Fever on the forums.

I know he would be interested in the last 3 VIN numbers for his recordes if you could get them

Mark 1 ZT-T 260s - Handbuilt Pre-production Cars

VIN #004
VIN #014 <-- This is a 385PS prototype
VIN #015
VIN #016
VIN #018
VIN #019 <-- Ex-P4 car in Biomorphic Green
VIN #022
VIN #023
VIN #025
VIN #026

Mark 1 ZT-T 260s - Production Cars

VIN #029
VIN #033
VIN #034
VIN #036
VIN #039
VIN #057
VIN #123
VIN #154
VIN #160
VIN #177
VIN #190
VIN #197
VIN #206
VIN #210
VIN #211
VIN #213

They are all SE spec except #014 - the only one with a '+' equivallent trim level.

The first official Facelifted 260 was a Tourer too, Vin #218

All 260s are a bit special, with such a low build number they would be, but the Tourers are pretty unusual and the Mk1 Tourer is the rarest of the breed.

My posting refers to the MGs, to be honest i have no idea if the R75 V8s are included in the above list, but would imagine that it would affect the VIN in terms of trim level and as i only have details on 'entry', '+' and 'SE' in the VIN sequences i suspect that the R75 V8 has it's own VIN sequence. May even have a different model code too. For instance:

VIN Breakdown: SAR RJ or SAR RX

SAR = Europe, England, Rover Group
RJ = ZT
RX = ZT 260

Does the R75 carry an RJ model code in the VIN sequence? If it does then there is a good chance that the R75 V8 carries an RX model code and this would mean that it is part of the 883 total build sequence.

Lastly, the above VIN numbers are also for Mark 1 cars only, i have VIN data for the first 226 cars, beyond this i have the odd one, but nothing definitive interms of a list (working on it!)

What i suspect is that the R75 V8 has it's own model code and trim level in the VIN sequence and as such is seperate to the ZT 260 build sequence. Can anyone confirm this?

What i can tell you is that the R75 V8 is indeed rarer than hen's teeth, i suspect a total build of between 50 and 100 cars and of these the Tourer model is rarer still. If you can get it, then i urge you to do so, chances are you won't come across one for sale again.

Rover 75 V8's also have the RX model code.

This can be evidenced on the www.austin-rover.co.uk website, under Chassis Numbers

OK, went and had a look at that 75 TV8 today. The VIN vas "VX" and the digits wrre 000777, does that mean it was 777 of 800ish that were made?
The car was in good shape except a couple of dents on the bonnet. However, not for me, I'll stick to my current car thanks ;-)

Only about 20 R75 V8 Tourers were made.
That is number 777 of the about 820 V8s in total including all models
