I think you could make a small fortune manufacturing these. I am sure nobogy would mind paying extra to have the finished product ready to install! Why not make a thread to gather interest (like the door finishers) and see if it is worth your effort? Preben

As the list was growing I've tried to collate those who've expressed an interest, apologies if I've missed anyone. At least we have a start point.
Hans - would you like me to raise the profile of this over on the two-sixties to see if we can get the numbers up? If it can be made to work on the Mk3 then you could be a busy man Members expressing an interest in Hans' BMW Mk IV Sat Nav ibus clock - as of 24/02/09 juzza0 - 2 units geoff11 pmessling ragman scgfull Jontie - if works with Mk3 m800rus - 2 units Kearton

In response to Colin's post
Hi all wanting a digital clock,
The I-bus coolant temp project has consumed a fair chunk of my financial reserve. Nevertheless I have secured a sufficient number of PIC16F88 and DS1307 chips plus crystals for this project from various sellers worldwide. I would prefer to wait for the delivery of a second batch of pcb's for the coolant temp project to see if they turn out OK [tricky business]. If they do [fortnight] I will order 20 clock boards. I contacted Rolf Resler about the price for the TH3122 chip and he offered to drop his price from 10 to 6 euro a piece if I order 20 pcs a time. About the MK4 MK3: The clock will certainly work with the MK3 nav and also with the 4:3 boardmonitor. GPS sync: I need to further investigate the GPS time synchronization issue. As I said before the circuit works fine without it [BMW doesn't have it]. The nav [both MK3 and MK4] transmits a UTC time and date message every minute. However this message lacks a flag indicating the validy of this info. Time and date are NOT valid if the GPS is NOT locked onto satellites and computing position. A car fitted with MK4 and BMW ULF [Bluetooth phone] forms an exception. The nav sends a 'current position' message to the phone. This message contains a flag indication VALID or NON_VALID position. So guys, don't despair, will get there. For Collin, feel free to post elsewhere, the more people interested the lower the cost. Hans |

Now posted on the two-sixties,
I'll collate the responses and build one list of interest parties - hopefully this will allow Hans to focus on production and cost reduction
