R.i.p
Sandy Jardine .
A legend of a player at my club Glasgow Rangers. I watched him as a young boy and a teenager then in my early twenties. Not only a great international player but a true gent. A talanted right back and a member of the 1972 Cup Winners Cup winning team. Sleep easy Sandy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Jardine Last edited by FLYER; 24th April 2014 at 21:59.. |

That is a terrible shock, i thought he had beaten it and had made a full recovery.
Sad news indeed. RIP Sandy Jardine.

Quote:
Had major surgery last year and seemed to be doing well. A cruel cruel affliction. My memories of him are not only his loyalty to the club but the way he led the fans protests against that rat Craig Whyte. He performed wonderfully well for Scotland in the 74 world cup and his goal against Bayern Munich in the Cup Winners Cup semi sent us to the final . Ibrox will be a sombre place tomorrow. |

I remember Sandy Jardine from a visit to Ibrox as a young schoolboy. He welcomed us in the marble entrance.
Everyone has nothing but priase for him. A true gent and wonderful defender.
