fuel tank sealing ring found under rear seat - Page 2

Hi
I have just returned from six months in France. The first time I filled the tank over there I could smell fuel. The second time petrol poured out from the wheel arch. You soon learn to only three quarter fill the tank. I am on the website seeking answers and could not help notice others have a similar problem.

sounds like the joint between tank and filler pipe perhaps ??
