as in my last heated seat quiry,as i said i needed an extra panel under the temp control panel, which houses the switch for the heated seats, has anyone fitted heated seats but used a different method, and not changed the panel ??

Panels are available and cheap enough from Les at SMC Trading.
The Correct switches should be used IMHO.

The switches have timers in them iirc and shut off after 15minutes. Getting the switches and panel would probably be the easiest bit.

Having the proper switches and elements in my car, I'd agree with JDC and the monk

It is possible to use a Rover 45 kit which comes with switches and timers but the switches are located in the arm rest console.

Problem is when you get them up and running the results are disappointing, mine only stay on around 10 minutes and it takes a few of those to warm up so just when you feel your backside getting warm it switches off. I know its to save the battery but other makes of cars with them I have been in stay on until you have had enough, wonder what would happen if the timer in the switch was bypassed, would it do any harm if the car is in motion and the battery being charged ?

I just thought it was to stop it from cooking your ***! My dad's lexus has a variable thermostat and you can adjust the temperature to suit, and on the merc you can as well, would be better if wee could do that on the 75's and ZT's

edit. Ok the swear filter has censored a word beginning with b and ending in um! That's not swearing!
