Default Nissan 2.0i engine

Hi Everyone

Following the thread "kv6...one of the nicest sounding v6's?" I wondered if anybody has been in a 2002 onwards Nissan Primera (the new shaped ones) with the 2.0i engine? If so what does people think on this engine? The reason I ask is because my dad owns a 52 plate Primera with the 2.0i engine and I find it so BORING and underpowered compared to the KV6. When he starts it up it sounds just like my mums old Ford Ka 1.3.

What do people think about this engine?

Regards
Tom

I tend to nod off when people start talking about Japanese cars, apart from Twin Turbo Supras and the like

Hi

I must admit that it isn't the nicest of cars. It sounds like a tin....driving in the car when its raining is a nightmare because of the rain hitting the roof it sounds just like a tin!

The obvious answer is to get my dad to get a R75 but that isn't going to happen he don't like them. He is one of these people that thinks well its a rover..... enough said.

Regards

This comes into the "irrelevant but possibly slightly interesting trivia" category.

The Nissan 2.8ltr straight six is a very popular engine for Kit Cars. Apparently it traces its history back to the BMC C-series.

My mum kept telling me when I first bought a Rover "Philiip, its a British Leyland" She hated it. She told me my MG ZR looked like an allegro.
I do actually like allegro's shhh!

Is the engine you talk of not a Renault engine from a Laguna?

I dont think comparing a Nissan to a 75 is a fair one to be honest, maybe with a Mondeo, but not a 75.
