I have installed IPVanish on my pc, tablet, tv and phone. I am having a great deal of trouble with it. When I connect on my pc and it shows I am connected to another server, it is fine. IPVanish advise me to leave it permanently connected to my pc, running in the background. When I click on the "x" on the page to close it, it disconnects. To open it again I have to go to "remove programme", I am given an option to repair it, which I do. How do I get it stay running all the time in the background but not visible?. Any help welcome. John.

Personally I don`t run mine all the time on either PC or Amazon TV.
In it`s settings on the General button you can choose how you want it to behave, on mine I have the dot in "do not automatically connect"
You don`t say what your PC is running on but in Win 10 I went into settings and security and altered some settings in there to run a VPN.
Good luck.
Ken.

Thanks Ken, I am new to the vpn, so am still learning. The helpline said to leave it running on my pc, and connect on my tab when outside. I am using Windows 10. John.

If you open Win 10 settings and click "Network & internet" you should see VPN in the left side panel, clicking on that will show you Windows settings for a VPN. When I open mine it shows me my IPVanish and I have both the settings in there as "on" the one for "metered network" also "while roaming"
though the latter won`t count as you PC is static and does not roam

When I go to "network settings" it does not show IPVanish, if I press add vpn it says "Windows built in" and won't let me change it. IPVanish is running. John.

I`m stumped, also I am not 100% sure you need to set windows up with your VPN but I did it because it were there in settings.
Did you try and reinstall it from the website and not just the built in repair?
Something else that springs to mind is that of your virus protection, I don`t have any virus protection and only use the one in Windows.
If I think of anything else that might help I will post it for you.
again...good luck.
Ken.
