Default Radiator water leak, missing bolt

A few weeks ago I had the engine tray off my CDT, and noticed a small amount of red coloured water collected under the radiator on the drivers side. I was in the middle of another job, so made a mental note to investigate it later.

Looked at it again today and found a trail of antifreeze water down the side of the radiator which started at the top inlet elbow.

Closer examination showed that the top bolt which should hold the top inlet elbow in was missing. Went and got myself an M6 x 12 bolt, and put it in. All seems fine now but dont know why the bolt was missing. It has either worked itself loose over 100K miles of motoring or it was never there in the first place, but you may want to check yours out just in case.
