Default silencer rotted through

Hi,

Earlier in week my silencer on 2l diesel started blowing. It's been wet today so didn't get underneath it to take a look however the fixing holding it up has rusted through. Basically it's in need of a new silencer.

I'll try to get this done tomorrow but as a guide, how much should this cost fully fitted?

Thanks,

Jim

Update. I've fitted a strap to hold the silencer in place. I may get it welded back on to box. The silencer itself is pretty solid and has year left in it. The welds are the only weak spots.

It’s usually the hangers that break off the box on aftermarket pipes, you can pick up an aftermarket pipe for around £70 you will have to pay a little more for a ‘quieter’ one though.
