My Virgin Media "up to 50 mbps" gives me a genuine 50 (+) if hard wired, and anywhere between 11 and 45 depending on how far away from the hub I am.
Upload speeds are rubbish whatever I try - but as I very rarely upload anything, it doesn't really matter.
Virgin tell me I'm being upgraded to "up to 70mbps" in November - but still haven't told me whether that's FOC or at additional cost

Better than mine.

I have been told that I will be upgraded soon?

This first test was in the back garden while I was having a smoke

This second test was when I was back in the living room, obviously both on wireless

Once we get close to Sigbritt Löthberg's speed, we can all be happy

Thumbs down Beat this!

We're with British Telecom - 440 - 770! Beat that!

kbps!

Fibre roll out to within 3 1/2 miles sometime this Month and BT says won't make any difference so no SuperFast future for us.....

Have been investigating Microwave - only 10MB apparently!

Angry Nope!

In a word No!

Nice to read though - thanks....

There are two local companies supplying microwave (line of site) at around 10MB* that include a Broadband Partnership (90% grant) with the Welsh Assembly Government - only been going a couple of years but all still seems rather slow and low tech compared to you guys!

There's a Bristol based Satellite company but rather expensive too!

*...but then even that would be 20 times faster than we are now!!
