Default *** Fitters Required ***

Guys,

I have had a few requests from people to fit the new Amp and aerial modification that I am supplying and although I would love to do this, I don't think it’s economically sound for those members
who live a long distance from me, nor do I really know what to charge people..

( see below for an idea though)

I therefore have a suggestion to make to you all...

If we have a list of people from different areas that are competent in installing DD units and indeed other kit, then why not start a list of "fitters" that other members can call upon for help should they require it ?..

I suggest a payment to that member of say £10 Per Hour for the time spent "on site" and £0.35 per mile for the total mileage covered?

It should only take an hour to fit at most so for example a 100 mile round trip and fitting would cost £45

You may well want to do this for free or just for a payment towards your fuel costs, which is fine, what I suggest above is more of a "Token Payment", which would also be a great deal less than going to a private installer etc...

Or if you are just happy enough for someone to drop by your place and do the install for free, there's another option..

This is more about getting things sorted for those members who find this kind of stuff baffling then anything else !..

Just an idea...

Thoughts ?...comments ??

I'd be happy to fit these at my unit just outside Manchester. As per charging, for forum members I don't think I would, unless any parts were needed of course

Good idea this pal, it's nice to help other members out

Cheers Ian,

That's good of you...

Like I said the charging would be entirely optional, and I am more than happy for people to drop by mine for some help for free, might even make em a cup of tea too !..

As for traveling, with the fuel prices the way they are I think mileage would be appropiate however..

I wouldn't mind doing this for the extreme SE corner out to say a 100mile radius. Being pragmatic about it I would, however, need to cover my costs.

Well that's 3 of us so far

Maybe what we can do is get the list together and then one of the kind Mods could sticky it for us somewhere ?

My lad is an auto-electrician (fits out fire engines, ambulances, police cars etc..), lives here with us at the moment (don't ask) and has no transport, but I feel sure he would be willing to install at the going rate if a car is brought to him/us - once he has fitted mine of course

He is out gallavanting at the moment, but I'll enquire of him later, if any one does need his help.

[EDIT] He says he is happy to help do the deed, once he has done mine and providing it is done in his spare time and the car is brought here - Garforth.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I have lots of experience with various ICE / electrical related projects in my ZT.

I'm more than happy to help fit these sort of things, although again my costs would need to be covered.

Travel though Norfolk / Suffolk on a daily basis.
