I think many of the super close up shots of insects are either with dead uns or they also put them in the fridge to slow them down. (I won't be doing that.) Then you can shoot indoors with a tripod and with a good lighting setup. Focus stacking is then a possibility also.

I've read about reversing lenses. I will read up more about it.
Great picture of the coin, seeing those little details you never seem to notice.
I won't be putting any animal in the fridge to make them slower. I don't really like the idea of that.
I will persevere with live insects I think.

That was a great video. Interesting to see his diffuser. It's much closer to the end of the lens than mine.

I am really pleased with the progress I've made. I'm finding it highly addictive.
Just need to find another aspect of photography I can enjoy over the autumn and winter months.
I wish I'd discovered photography years ago!!

This was tiny. I think about 2mm in length. Not as sharp as I would like, but as sharp as I could get.
I'm not sure if it's me or my equipment....

Went out today..
Not much other than Flies about....

I did manage a photo of a Dragonfly that I'm almost happy with, but it needs some work first.

Here's a couple from today... I reckon the next couple of weeks and my macro lens will be going into hibernation.
