It's a good tip though to get scratches out.
My wheel looks like oak on top where the suns always on it. I think I read about having them re polished but at what expense

Steve it would be a hell of a job polishing the wood up as all the lacquer
would have to be striped back....Why dont you look around a couple of
coach works or failing that a cabinet maker see what sort of price they
are asking.
Im a decorator so i use abrasives all the time & my line of thought was
if T-cut works on car paint (which more often then not has a lacquer on)
why wouldn't it work on the lacquer on our wheels so i give it a go and
bingo it works better then expected....But the important bit is mask off
the leather
