Default Insurance fright

**not sure if this should go here but if not the mods can move it**

Just for the hell of today I phone ins for 2 quotes...

1...for an 03 75 diesel est
2..." " 03 Pug 406 diesel est

Now I know the pug's not in the same league but still a good car none the less. I'm currently paying 24 a month for the 306 diesel est, the 75 was an extra 14 a month at 38.....the 406......50!!

I guess because it's French and not British....then again about the only thing Brittish on the Rover's the seats and shell, maybe electrics. I honestly didnt expect that though.

mine (for the 75) was around the £180 mark last year from HF, fully comp and the renewal has just been delivered - £217 for this next year. I'm not sure whether that is good or not, with all these scare stories.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I was on a certain website that doesnt have Meerkats on it and my Insurance was quoted at £100 more than last years, I will have to wait and see what the Cooperative send me as a renewal next month, but I don't expect anything less than a £50 hike.

Anyone checking websites for quotes, I would highly recommend playing around with the "Excess" part too. My Quote today for Zero excess was £486.80........... The same quote with £50/£100/£250 Excess? £486.80.......... Go figure ????????? The premium only rose above £250 Excess
