Default Multimeter screen gone

Hi I wonder if anyone can help with this, switched on and screen has started to deline for a better word so any chance anyone knows how to sort it ?

Replace the battery first in case the driver is sensitive to voltage and the battery is getting low.

Other than that, just buy a new meter.

There are so many decent multi meters for sale these days for under £20, I replaced my old one last year with this model. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIGITAL-MU...EAAOSwT~9Wl3fK

Thanks all for the replies, well after stripping it down cleaning all the contacts with alcohol and packing up the screen a bit, it's now in the bin lol.

Will get shopping for a new one, now I have finally binned it,thing was I'm sure it was dear and me being a cheapskate I kept holding of till now when the display got too much to read

I`m like you in some way`s, try and fix things and bin as a last resort.
