Default Our Prisons are a mess and a Complete Joke

It seems that the con's and not the Guards run the prison these days. Have a look at this from our MCTC (Military Corrective Training Center in Colchester. Even better, bring back the chain gangs .

Yes in a bad way. Can't help thinking contracting some out to private contractors is partly to blame. Cheaper cost means poor quality. Lets not forget G4S forgot to turn up at Olympics 2012.

"not wish to come back here" is what it should be all about.

When I joined the Prison Service in 1978 I was issued with a truncheon made of lignum vitae which I occasionally used to good effect. In the mid eighties I had to surrender it for a new issue lightweight ash wood stave that was totally innefective, I imagine balsa wood was going to be the next progression, or perhaps polystyrene. Good professional officers and public let down by spineless politicians

Spineless politicians is exactly where the problem lies in my opinion, I for one think that half of them should be in prison for letting the public down

And the rest of scumbags would be sent to work camps where theyd have to work for their food camp bills and do something for society instead of living on our money

I have a customer who has a prison record for armed robbery ( he was in a bad place in his life)

He is quite open about his previous life as he calls it, he did say it was not the prison in itself that would stop him offending again but the not being able to do what he wanted if that makes sense.

Apparently for him apart from the lack of freedom the worse thing was the food, he wasn't expecting al a carte but some times it was little better than pig swill in his view. He got an 10 year sentence and was out in 5.

Personally I find the thought of my liberty being taken away from me the scariest part, we have only 3 score and 10 on this planet and to think I could spend 10% or more of that in prison sounds horrific.

Well there have been a few politicians in jail the past few years, no wonder they don't want a tough regime, in case they, or their slimy mates end up in there.

Bring back public execution, that would sort the problem out.

An eye for an eye, all this pussyfooting around with the justice system is embarrassing, it doesn't work.
