Default Airbag fault failed M.O.T

Took the car for its M.O.T today and failed only because of the airbag light.
The garage put it on a fault finder and gave the error code 075 .
Seems to be right hand side airbag returning high resistance .
Any ideas of which wire or sensor that is causing it.

A quick heads-up: a loose connection under the passenger seat is often reported as causing an airbag fail light to illuminate. Disconnect and reconnect fitting. Others will advise if it is something more complicated. Hope this helps.

RHS would indicate the connector under the driver's seat rather than the passenger side, worth checking them all though, seat belt pre-tensioner connectors as well.

Why take the car for an MOT with a fault light showing, any fault light on the dash is a fail

I had already told the garage of the error before i took it and he said pop it in anyway and he would see if he could clear the fault. The car was booked in today at 11am. Had the drivers seat out yesterday and reconnected the wires. Was wondering if it was the connectors i used that can cause high resistance error or if it just its own plugs. I used male/female connectors but garage has advised to go through all the wires and use straight heat shrink connectors.

If you are replacing/eliminating the connectors its worth adding a few inches of wire, prevents seat movement putting the wiring under tension. If you have already done work on the underseat connectors I'd strongly advise a T4 session to identify the cause rather than guessing and a process of elimination which can get very frustrating . . . . and expensive!

My fathers 45 was MOTd a couple of months ago, and unbeknown to me, the engine management light was on (I would have turned it off if he had told me) and they just put it as an advisory

Was it a diesel? If so the MIL being on won't make any difference for the MOT.

I'm in darlington with the car but I can't drive it to get T4 as insurance has ran out. I will be selling the car as soon as the MOT is done as I've ordered a new car. Not worth getting insurance again for only 7 weeks .

No airbag light is ONLY an advisory

Not sure of the thinking behind this one but you car cannot fail if you have NO air bag light.
