Default Boiler advice please

We have a Baxi Netatec combi, this morning there was no hot water on tap. This happened a few years ago when it was still under warranty, it was the actuator on the diverter valve. Eventually after about an hour I tried again and it came back on. Is it possible its sticking or is it in need of replacement? If the latter its not an expensive part, but how long to change it labour wise?

Have you checked what the pressure valve is reading. It it is too low (less than 0.8 bar) you need to bleed some more water into the system. Not sure if your boiler has a low pressure LED that would indicate that is the problem.

Just had the same thing on mine and waiting for it to be replaced. I watched the fitter investigating it and the unit appeared to be a "plug and play" bit of kit. So at the moment we are warm but dirty!! Chris.S

Yes, diverter valve. I've replaced the valve on a couple of boilers now.

You say CHEAP but the ones I replaced on a Worcester system were around £100.--------

Easy to replace though after just the boiler drain down.

Yes ,the valve itself,is about £100: but the actuator,or motor that operates it, is only about £25-45

We have a regular gas fitter/plumber who does all our work Ian, I was just trying to estimate a cost based on time, according to Simon's video, the bloke on there says 30 minutes, so roughly 30 quid labour plus cost of the part

That cost is not too bad then Rich and probably the best way to get the job done.
