Will replacement seats need a T4 session?
Hi, I am about to take delivery next week of a complete leather interior. My drivers seat is very worn so the replacements will smarten the car up a little.
But it's just struck me that if I put the new driver and passenger seats in will they need a T4 session before they will work correctly? I'm replacing like for like so don't expect any issues... But the T4 is a bit of an unknown. Many thanks, Rich |

The only reason you'd need a T4 session is if you are adding memory seats as the ZCS coding needs to be altered
( they may work without but if anything should go wrong with them you wouldn't be able to diagnose the problem on T4 ) Russ

Ahh thanksf for the update Russ; yes they are memory seats. My originals are also memory seats. I'm intending to swap like for liike, so just improving the condition of them.
My car is a CDT 2002 Conn SE Tourer, and I guess the donar is the same all be it a saloon, but I think it must also be a Connoisseur given the identical leather trim. I dont need the back of the back seat so hopefully the rest will fit. Hmm I'm thinking a visit to the T4 man may inevitable perhaps then. Rich |

If it's like for like (memory for memory) seats it shouldn't be a problem and you shouldn't need a T4 session

I think the saloon rears wont fit a tourer although the fronts are the same.

Hi Gents ... the breaker has tested the drivers seat, they say the memory buttons work and the seat moves correctly i.e. back and base motors are OK. However the button which triggers the back upright to move does no work. Does anyone know if this is a big issue or simply a swich connection problem? Given the complexity of these seats I'm after a plugh and play solution so dotn want too much grief, as if the back cant be adjusted it may look pretty but its effectively useless.
Your help appreciated onnce again, Rich |

Hi, another question if I may ...
The breakers have taken the drivers seat out of the donar car, but they say the button which allows the back rest to move does not work. However they say when the memory buttons are pressed the seat does indeed move correctly and the back rest motor moves the back rest into different positions. Is this just a an issue of a dodgey switch on the button adjuster or something more sinister? Obvioulsy I need this switch to work otherwise the seat is as good as useless, as it cant be set to the desired position before adding to a memory button functions. I'm about to pay a fair bit of cash so would like to know if its an easy fix or not? (PS I do have exactly the same seats in my car already so will effecively have a spare swtich if I need one) With thanks, Rich. |
