Interesting hobbies
Hi all, not seen any posts anywhere on here that lists members hobbies/interests etc.
Maybe I'm just being nosey but I like to know what people have in common besides their mutual interest in the Rover 75's, ZT's. I'll go first then ... Avid biker when weather permits, don't do rain 'n' cold anymore, my old bones just won't put up with it, always been a biker and probably always will (if the Big man upstairs lets me lol.) And ... main all year round hobby is ... Clay Shooting, my perfect sunday morning would be a full English breakfast followed by a 100 clay bird shoot over 10 traps. Sporting clays as apposed to skeet or trap as it requires a level of skill of which I have yet to acquire. I have been shooting for the last 35 years and am still as passionate about the sport as when I first held a shotgun (which is a Browning 525 sporter 12 bore) I average 85-90 /100 , so .. the way i see it I'm only 10-15 behind George Digweed who is the very best in the world haha, except he can get 100/100 without breaking a sweat. (wouldn't mind a tenth of his talent tbh) Would be nice to hear what all you other peeps are in to. Cheers all. Last edited by gadget1960; 16th December 2018 at 18:57.. Reason: typo |

I too am a biker, used to be an all year biker, now summer only.
Past hobby, Visual Basic programming mainly for work. DIY standard only but still do Microsoft Excel macros. Now for personnel use but previously for work. DIY but not plastering or brick laying. Hoping my daughter and her husband decide to go DIY on the house they are buying. Another past hobby as I've given it up, scalextric. Had over 1,000 cars, bikes and lorries in the collection. Not my hobby but I support the wife, gardening particularly growing vegetables. runner beans fresh from garden to plate. Frozen....yuk this last year my Tourer has been a labour of love and it is still on going. macafee2 |

I kind of inherited that from my dad. Btw ... scalextric was possibly the coolest thing any child could ever have back in my day, unfortunately my children then and my grand children now are more interested in Nintendo / xbox / psp and so on. And ... with you on the 'home grown' front too, I'm a butcher by trade (40 years now) still get a massive buzz from providing my customers with only home grown un-messed with British meat produce. |

I decided to retire at 55, after 41 years working shifts, that was 5 years ago, not wore a watch since. Never know what the time is, or what day it is most of the time.
Love to watch the sunrise/sunset. Go to bed when I like. Get up when I like. Do what I like. When I like. For as long as I like. Always do my share of the housework. Biker also, for almost 44 years, rode nothing but GoldWings for the last 35 years. My 1500cc GoldWing Aspencade I sold 5 years ago. My 1800cc boxer Six powered GoldWing Monarch.

Former Wing owner, I had a colour matched trailer as well. Originally got the trailer for towing behind my ST1100, used to go camping and fishing up the north west of Scotland and got tired of tying everything on the bike in a specific sequence, just throw everything in the trailer.
My hobby turned into my profession, repairing and modifying electric guitars. Made many great friends, the best being the guy who built and maintained Ritchie Blackmore's guitars in the 70s and 80s, sadly he's no longer with us. |
