A club member wrote to Chevron (the OEM company) who said that they no longer manufacture Texaco N402. They offered a current product, Texaco Havoline Multi-Vehicle ATF, which is suitable.
I am that very club member who wrote to Chevron!! I wrote because of some members saying that the 7045E was compatible. They never said they did not make the MGR branded fluid. They did imply they made the Land Rover equivalent though. I also do not think there is anything wrong with the Carlube product but would just rather use the MGR branded stuff.

This was the reply I received.

The ‘ATF N402’ became ‘ATF 402’ a number of years ago now.
We used to sell the ATF 402, however this has now been phased out.
The options available now are to purchase this from a Land Rover dealership (they should know it as ATF 402 or STC 50531), or we have a new ATF called ‘Havoline Multi-Vehicle ATF’ which can be used as a replacement in ATF 402 applications.
You should not use the Texamatic 7045 E as this grade is a different formulation and will have different frictional characteristics.
