Default V8 Mustang engine replace

Hi All.

Did any one here swapped a standard engine with the Mustang V8?

Im thinking to switch my 2.0 Diesel with the v8.
I know it need a new sub frame, but it should be possible to do it because the chassis was designed for it.
i have a 02 Tourer.

can any one help??

thanks
Rashi

Shells are the same except for the transmission tunnel, boot floor and rear axel mounts

Front subframe is different, as is the HVAC unit....

Then the electronics are completly different, even down to the IPK etc...

and so on....

Not really a viable conversion

Cheaper to buy a V8 that is for sure, if you got loads of wonga then you can buy the V8 and then supercharge it - The End!

Bob hope!

The Haynes manual for the 75/ZT does not cover the V8. There's a reason for that, different car to the FWD cars. Different enough for them to put "NOT" in capitals.

I'd recommend as before me, buy a V8.

Sorry but shells are not the same. The chassis legs are different because the 260 ones are stronger for crash purposes. The rear end is different too to allow for rear axle. It's just not a viable thing to do

Somebody did reshell a 260 into a diesel ZT-T a few years ago but I can't see the point in even trying. They all started life as a standard FWD "shell in white" travelling down the production line & were picked off as & when to be converted to V8s, the transmission tunnel was then cut out & the wider V8 tunnel & modified spare wheel well section etc. were spot-welded into the shell by hand by proper blokes not robots
