Driver's side door won't open - cable hook still ok

You can unbolt the lower window rail bar 10mm bolt at bottom of the door frame, and move it to the side to get a little more room, make sure window is up fully first though.
But actuator can be replaced without doing That, as you said "wiggle and fiddle" it will go eventually.
