Default Top strut bearings!

Just a few questions in regards to the top strut bearing,

1) Do they need to be changed in pairs? or just the one that is faulty?

2) Will it fail an MOT, as my seems to be getting worse (Creaking)?

3) So finally is there anyone out there in the South east, preferably, that would be willing to fit one for me, if I aquire the part, as I have been put off by a recent experience of a garage, so hopefully a member on here could do it for me, of course being paid, Many thanks

Mine has just passed it's MOT with a worn top bearing as a advisory only.
Believe you can replace them individually although maybe a good idea to replace both together as a precaution, they are not vey expensive either so doing both makes sense.

you should pass an MOT with noisy strut top bearings, they tend to be noisy when in contact with the road.

the MOT test will check the steering movement with the cars wheels raised on a ramp.

i recommend you have them changed..

You are not that far from EXMS.. I'd ask them for a quote.

I paid £30 per side labour but that way a VERY cheap garage.

the mot place i go to has plates that the front wheels go on and shake ,anything that is likely to make a noise when driving will make its self heard on these plates .
