If you PM a moderator they will advise how to open the bonnet. Christopher is on line.

Hi there, Can you explain a bit better when you say one of the catches wont release. If your talking about item number 9 in this drawing, then try to get someone to push up/down on that corner of the bonnet when you pull the lever. Once open remember to lubricate them all. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID001773 Last edited by Kandyman; 15th December 2009 at 11:33.. |

I had exactly the same problem when I bought mine.
Kandyman is right, but if it still wont go you can do as I had to. Find very sturdy hook or pair of circlip plyers and grab the cable just behind the bonnet relase handle. Make sure that the hook is free to move along the wire and give it a good pull. Make sure you clean and lube the mechanism afterwards to stop it happening again. |

When I had this problem, one of the cables had snapped (corroded through) just as it entered the nearside latch - harsher methods are then needed to open the hood than if the cable has jumped-out at the splitter box.
