A classroom based refresher course to be taken every 5 years. This would bring drivers who have never read an highway code since passing their tests up to speed on new rules and regulations, new signs, explaining how they should actually use the hard shoulder lane when the signs say so. Etc etc

ban the use of mobile phones.

fog lights not to activate above 30mph or car not to go over 30mph. if visibility so bad you need fog lights, then its too bad to go fast.

DRL's to be on rear, not just the front

MOT records, if no mot vehicle reg to be programmed into ANPR to alert police if no mot or no tax.

stricter rules on inconsiderate parking give police power to tow if car parked across drive entrance no matter if a car is in drive or not, home owner must complain before police act.

dipped headlights to be used at lighting up times, not side lights

cars to be fitted with breathalysers, over the limit it wont start.

tougher sentence for accidents and for dangerous driving, causing an accident by dangerous driving, causing death by dangerous driving, driving with no license, or no insurance or if involved in an accident and no mot and or insurance.

more yellow boxes

At the time when photocard licence renewal is due.

Also introduce mandatory eye tests every two years at an opticians with a certificate produced and sent to DVLA linked to your licence number.

That should clear some of the problems off the road, and reduce a few accidents.

Mandatory fitting of rain sensing headlights to all new cars so that dick heads don't drive on motorways in driving rain and spray with just their front drls on

About an hour ago after filling the van with diesel at Sainsbury's i followed a couple in a golf out onto the roundabout. There were no rear lights on it but a couple of brightly showing LEDS at the front. As we sat side by side at the traffic lights I thought I would let them know. I wound my window down, gave a friendy wave and tooted the horn. No response. I tried again and when they looked I motioned to wind the window down, nothing other than the bloke looking p***ed off and shaking his head "no".
I was loosing patience so I then shouted "You haven't put your lights on", slowly the penny dropped and then a faint wave of acknowledgement and he switched them on.
I thought his Mrs might wind the window down and thank me, pigs might!

I wish I hadn't bothered, let them get pulled in next time if that's their attitude.

It's not actually against the law to park over someone's driveway, as long as your wheels are not on the dropped section of the kerb. Your Rover 75 boot can block the driveway, if that makes sense lol
