Finished fitting some switchback DRL (daytime running lights) to the Tourer today. Well happy with them.
Wired them through a 5 pole changeover relay so the white daytime running lights are on whenever ignition is on but they go out when you turn sidelights on. Am happy with the Tourers lights now having fitted uprated (whiter) bulbs to the main beam headlights (the standard halogen main beam bulbs were a bit yellow compared to the factory fitted Xenon dipped beams) Uprated front fog light bulbs plus LED front sidelight bulbs fitted too. So all the front lights are now a similar bright white light. Also replaced the rear indicator bulbs with bulbs made of amber glass, bulbs that were in there before were clear glass bulbs with amber paint on that was flaking off so that the rear indicators would probably fail the MOT as they weren't amber enough. These were the DRL's I fitted https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-PY21W-...h4e:rk:37:pf:0 |

Removed Mickyboy's ECM from the ZT with 240 troublefree miles under it's belt, then fitted Graham's freshly repaired ECM and hoofed across town to buy a couple of things for Chris's birthday.
No car related stuff tomorrow, a complete day off and relax Brian |

I fitted the new lower engine mount to match the new hydramount, and had a test drive. It's now a lot smoother.
Also I struggled with a wishbone bush bolt! I was going to change the autobox oil, but didn't bother as I'd run out of time, daylight and inclination. |

I use my engine crane to lift the gearbox
Just a thought, however using threaded bar will offer a similar level of control while lifting. Treat yourself to some M12 threaded bar to assist you when refitting the subframe Brian |

Checked the water in the 1.8 as the low warning light suddenly started flashing... topped up and it disappeared again.
Looks like a head off job at the weekend 😩

It’s definitely the head gasket - it drank half a litre in about five mins, topped it up when cold and it fit the same again, slight misfire on start up and no signs of leaks anywhere.

I will check the pump, but it was new a couple of years ago and I would have thought there would have been signs of water at that side of the engine.

After 10mths i have finally fitted my dash cam. Not in the 75,but in the Nissan.
Put it in the Nissan has it had a socket in dashboard top compartment. And i will be using that during the winter months.
