Default Question for Diesel Owners with strait tail pipes.

Right my ZT diesel is going to need a rear silencer soon, and i kinda like the idea of fitting a V6 silencer only due to the fact i hate the down turned tail pipes the diesel comes with.

Now my question is how much soot do you get up the rear bumper, i only ask as a 75 diesel passed me yesterday with ZT rear box and the rear bumper around the exhaust was black.

Ive no interest in a stainless as i do to many miles and i have a proper toy in the garage that gets that treatment, lol.

The downturned pipes are there for that reason, to allow the soot particulates to hit the deck rather than the rear bumper

It will mean washing the car more regularly if you fit straight pipes

had these quads fitted to my diesel since January this year and before that I had a stainless steel straight pipes on one side and never ended up with a black or sooty bumper guess it'll depend on how smokey your diesel is.
