Default Old negatives

Now then....
My dad has brought an epson scanner, which will scan 35m negatives and then you can print them out.

Now he has found lots of very old negatives must be 2inch x 3inch these will not fit into the scanner. Is there a scanner / machine you can buy that will attach to a pc and be able to print them off?

He has tryed pc world but may have well have spoken to a wall.

thanks

Do a google search under Large Negative Scanner - a fair number of suggestions come up.

I would also have thought that Epson, Nikon and Canon would all have at least one in their range. A look at their websites perhaps ??

You can use any normal scanner to scan negatives higher resolution the better.
Set scan area to negative size otherwise you will have to crop later, you can of course use the scanner to blow up the scan to whatever size photo's you would like. Then of course use a photo manipulation package of your choice to make them into positive images.

I've used this method many times for old negatives like those you have (of which I've hundreds) with no problems.

The Epson Perfection 4490 Photo Scanner can. It's a duel scanner bottom half as in a standard scanner and a separate Photo scanner in the lid.
Has different sizes frames to suit both negatives and slide for all film and slide sizes up to 6" x 6". Not cheap in the £300 bracket.
