OK, to the best of my recollection, these were taken at maximum zoom and auto-focus and the camera was hand-held. This is with the non-stabilised Bigma 50-500.

Considering that I paid £300 for the lens, I'm happy with the results

Blimey! That lens is so long you knocked the first chaps left leg off! No wonder his mates hid in caves or kept their heads down!

Nice photos though, been thinking about the 150-500 OS for the future.

You got a bargain there at £300 Paul, nice one.

I could really have done with a support for the first shot of the Inca Tern.

I'm sure the blurriness was down to me trying to control the lens in a sudden gust of wind.

Paul thanks for the PM but my remark should have been inserted right after you posted the photo of the lens and before the photos taken with it!

Excellent captures by the way especially hand held; you got yourself a bargain there.

AHA. NOW I understand - Thanks for letting me know.


I bought the beast second hand at that price of course, but it had hardly been used so yes, I did have me a bargain that day
