My V8 - getting all the little odds and ends sorted
First chance to give the V8 a bit of long overdue TLC I found a smashed wine glass under the battery and a teaspoon behind the back seat and a small dent in the roof! no idea how I missed that before!
The car is full of mud in odd places no idea what the previous owners past time was but I think it involved a lot of mud! Today started off as one of those simple little problems getting the washers jets working again! I ended up with the entire bumper off the front! In theory the washer pump can be removed once the wheel arch liner has been removed (note on the V8 the washer bottle is on the opposite side to the FWD cars). In practice I couldn't quite see or get hold of enough of the pump that is right at the front of the bottle to feel confident in removing it blind. So off with the bumper, out with pump and I found the grommet come filter completely bunged up with goo in fact the lower inch of the washer bottle contents were jelly like! I might put the Bumper back on tomorrow but the car looks mean with it removed I Will take some pics tomorrow one interesting thing I noticed the nearside drain tube we know and love has a much larger bore than the standard 75 or ZT item. |

Car was only serviced two weeks ago at Reg Vardy, they brimmed it with green washer fluid. You would think a service would include checking it actually worked as well
