Thanks for the advice - will try unplugging the MAF
However, before I do this, should I do anything to the Synergy box i.e both tuning and MAF switches are on - should I switch them both off, or does it not matter ? Jon

Turn the synergy off while you experiment with your MAF..
Once you know your mAF is iffy, (or otherwise) then turn the s/2 MAF section back on and mess till you find the best setting i.e. 1 2 or 3.. Once you have sorted that out. You can turn the tuner on and start to play again. . |

Just to update - invested in a new Pierburgh MAF to replace my Bosch one........instant response (whoooo !!!!)
Just to say, from this, I would recommend if anyone is investing in a synergy 2 unit, then they may as well spend that bit extra on the Pierburgh MAF as well -even of their Bosch one seems to be okay. Otherwise, they are not going to get the full effects of the synergy unit
