yes it will slow a leak and as ed did not put a great deal in the system it should be ok. thought he mite have but a litre in over a few months that would not do the seals any good lol

Smile report back

Thought I would report back on this issue. I replaced the ps reservoir and associated pipe work ( supplied by seancars) the leak appeared to be on the return pipe from the cooler. The fluid drained from the system was a bisto gravy colour, refilled with dextron 3 atf fluid and all seems ok.

Cheers Ed.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that all is OK..

I have not had to top up any lubricants but I did have to add a wee bit of Coolant on getting the car but it's not altered since .................................................. correction just checked and the little Ribs were visible so added about a 1/4 pint of water this coolant was put in on 5th June 2009 so I was planning on changing it anyway before long. Hmmm i wonder if I have a weep somewhere?

Just noticed that my power steering fluid is a horrid colour as well so that's another job to add to the list. Will have to check in the workshop as I do believe I have about 4 litres of Dextron 111 from when we had the Cherokee auto.
