Default That's a relief!

Don't you just love that feeling when you find an alloy to match your car and can ditch the space-saver?

Found mine on eBay locally - £40, complete with a new tyre.

Little by little my car is becoming the 75 I always wanted....

Anyone want a free, unused space saver?

One of the first things I changed. so glad a full size fits. I paid £6 with a just legal tyre. When I came to change my tyres I got the garage to swop it. I never wear my tyres to the limit.

What is the black square thing to the right of the jack?

That's a very strange coincidence - that's the first question I had when I swapped the wheels over this afternoon. Hadn't noticed the chocks before.

What you can see there is actually a pair of chocks that clip together. Never had that facility before in a car's toolkit.

Probably to compliment the superb parking brake I'd say

It may just be the photo of your new wheel, but it looks to have been "flat spotted" at the point nearest the rear of the car

Does the toolkit /Jack fit back in again with the full size wheel in there?

I think a more accurate term might be 'cost saver' but the manufacturers have decided to try and make it look like they're doing us a favour by saving space. Very kind of them - if only I remembered to lift the boot floor and use that inch space to pack stuff when I know I've got a load on...!

The toolkit does indeed fit in the top of a full sized spare and the lid closes on top. It's almost as if it were designed that way ;-)

If it's an original Rover chock then it is a single chock. It twists to the desired restraining shape then back to the flatter storage position. I was trying to seperate the one l bought until l read on here that it's a single item.
