There has not been a scrap of evidence to suggest that fitting an EGR bypass or disabling the standard EGR will cause any problems to our cars as described in the original article.

In fact from some of the other information contained in this thread it could have a beneficial effect for the engine especially in relation to oil degradation.

Fitting a bypass or disabling the standard EGR (or not) is a matter of personal choice.

From personal experience I can say that having an EGR bypass fitted has had no detrimental effect whatsoever.

Coupled with the other tuning mods the engine will now happily rev to the limiter (if required) and returns both very good performance and economy.

Russ
i thought you probably were being a bit sarky.
all i will say is, you pays your money and you take your choice.

Talking

I bought Synergy 2. Lots of smoke then just cleaned up the EGR. (lots of CRUD!)
Less smoke more power.
well worth the effort.
see my pics attached

If i fit bypass pipe and have Synergy2 will the car be OK for MOT ?
i reckon it will ?

comments please

Absolutely! I don't think the 1000's of owners who have fitted both items would have appreciated removing said items for every MOT

BTW you pics are tiny!!

With at least a Ron Box it should rev freely in gears close to if not the first red sector (not advised of course).
If you are limited to 3000 RPM this would suggest a problem I believe.
Max Power 96KW is shown at 4000RPM Max Torque 300nm at 1900 RPM for the Standard 131BHP Engine.

Agree with John
Max 3000 RPM suggests a fault.

No add ons or mods should be carried out until any existing faults are rectified.
