CDT fuel cooler pipe info reqd
I don't think I'm going to be able to get the fuel cooler off my CDT without a bit more work. The old pipes are stuck fast and I'm worried about damaging the cooler. I'm thinking of cutting them between the cooler and the first joint a couple of feet away.
The pipes don't seem to come as a separate item looking at Rimmers web site and so I would like some advice on buying suitable replacement pipes. What size bore and what make/type of pipe please. I'm a bit despondent! macafee2 |

The pipe connections are push fit. They can be tight but should release with a bit of a fight. Just push the locking lugs in and pull them apart.
[IMG][/IMG] Bit more info here on the diesel fuel system, including the pipe colour idents and what goes where: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=172055 And as it is Christmas, high time the bad boys were let loose in the technical section. . Hi Ian,
I've had to replace a couple of the shorter pipes on mine earlier in the year. I have some spare left at home so will let you know what size i used later i used standard fuel pipe from my local car spares shop. From memory, for the pipes i changed i had to remove the metal clips with pliers and then the pipes just pulled off. I then replaced the clips with jubilee clips which are much better. |

I don't seem to have the metal clips where the pipes fit onto the cooler. If I cut the pipes between the cooler and the Green and Blue tape I'm hoping to remove the cooler and then get to the fittings at the tape and replace the pipe from that point. I have tried heating the pipes but cant budge them and laying under the car I am worried about snapping the fixing. Hopefull if I cut the pips, remove the cooler to the garage I can then remove the pipes a lot easier. Appreciate the help macafee2 |
